Proof OverPossibility

Date:

Your vulnerability scanner just generated 1,000 critical alerts, 973 of which likely don’t lead to a business impact. And somewhere in a boardroom, someone is about to ask you whether the organisation is secure, and you have to give them an honest answer.

Most organisations built their security testing programmes for yesterday’s threats, not today’s. The tools are designed to catalogue what may be wrong, not to show what an attacker can actually do. And attackers have moved on. They’re faster, better resourced, and increasingly using AI to find and exploit weaknesses at a scale and speed that point-in-time scans simply can’t match.

The potential damage is significant: regulatory fines, breach costs, board accountability, and reputational harm that takes years to repair. But many organisations are still making security decisions based on stale data and alert lists stripped of context.
